SPOROPHYLL

Sporophyll

A sporophyll is a leaf that bears sporangia. Both microphylls and megaphylls can be sporophylls. In heterosporous plants, sporophylls bear either megasporangia, or microsporangia . The overlap of the prefixes and roots makes these terms a particularly confusing subset of botanical nomenclature.
