PLENA

Plena

Plena is a genre of music, chant and dance native to Puerto Rico. The plena originated in Ponce around 1900. It was first heard in the neighbourhood Barriada de la Torre, whose population consisted mostly of immigrants from St. Kitts, Tortola, and St. Thomas, who had settled on the island since the late 1800s.
