Muslims was a term used in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia as an official supranational designation of nationality of Slavic Muslims. They were one of the constitutive nations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In relation to their national awakening and rebirth on the eve of the Breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s they are today constitutionally recognized as Bosniaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, like before the establishment of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia after World War I.
