Aleutian Low
The Aleutian Low is a semi-permanent low pressure center located near the Aleutian Islands during the winter. It is one of the main centers of action in the atmospheric circulation of the Northern Hemisphere. In the north pole winter time, the subpolar low pressure belt develops well only over oceans and this low pressure is divided in two parts by Asia and North America continent in between them in a circle. The Aleutian low is the one lying east of Japan. The second part is the Icelandic low lying in the Norwegian Sea.The above text is a snippet from Wikipedia: Aleutian Low
