Air Tanzania Company Limited is the flag carrier airline of Tanzania based in Dar es Salaam with its main hub at Julius Nyerere International Airport. It was established in 1977 after the dissolution of East African Airways and has served a variety of domestic, regional, and intercontinental destinations. Its history, however, has been marked by an aborted privatisation, dysfunctional alliances, and a controversial aircraft leasing contract.
