"Spinning Around" is a song by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue. It was written by Ira Shickman, Osborne Bingham, Kara DioGuardi, and Paula Abdul, and produced by Mike Spencer. The song was mainly written by Paula Abdul after her second divorce . It was originally intended for Paula Abdul's "comeback" album. However, as the album never came to fruition, it was given to Minogue, who recorded it for her seventh studio album Light Years . Musically, the song is a dance song with strong disco influences.
