MUSKRATLOVE

Muskrat Love

"Muskrat Love" is a pop song by written by Willis Alan Ramsey depicting a romantic liaison between two anthropomorphic muskrats named Susie and Sam. The song was first recorded by Ramsey himself on his sole album release Willis Alan Ramsey on which the song was entitled "Muskrat Candlelight" referencing the song's opening lyric. A 1973 cover version by America - re-entitled "Muskrat Love" for the lyrics which close the song's chorus - was a minor hit: a 1976 remake by Captain & Tenille afforded the song its highest profile peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
