EPILEPSY

Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a group of long term neurological disorders characterized by seizures. These seizures are short spell which vary from being nearly undetectable to vigorous shaking. Technically the definition requires seizures to be recurrent and unprovoked, or if only a single seizure there to be an increased chance of future seizures. Some definitions include seizures cause by brain trauma, stroke, brain cancer, and drug and alcohol misuse among others; however, these are more properly classified as seizure-related disorders.
