Binding over
Bind over, binding over order or bind over for sentence is a legal term relating to a power exercised by magistrates in England and Wales and in other common law jurisdictions such as Hong Kong. It is related to bail. A person who is bound over can be required to return to court at a later date, to refrain from certain activities for a certain period, to exercise control over a youth guilty of an offence, or other conditions. If the person does not fulfill the conditions, they can be arrested or other penalties may apply.
